Raven’s (-6.5) vs Browns: The Ravens finally got in the win column last week, beating the Steelers in a sloppy game. I think they might start to wake up on offense and right the ship, they will need to if they want a shot to catch the Bengals. The Browns made it interesting against the Chargers, but another away game doesn’t look good for them.
Bears (+9.5) at Chiefs: Upset alert!! The Chiefs aren’t very good, and Cutler is back under center for the struggling Bears. Matt Forte, Martellus Bryant, and possibly Alshon Jeffery back should help them keep it at least close. Alex Smith hasn’t played well, their WRs are mediocre at best…Charles and Kelce are the offense…I smell an upset brewing!!
Cardinals (-2.5) at Lions: Cardinals lost a tough divisional game to the Rams last week, while the Lions went to 0-4 and are the only winless team in the NFL. Cardinals on the road doesn’t scare me against a bad Lions team. They will get a few wins, but not against one of the best teams in the NFL and my NFC Champion pick (if Palmer stays healthy).
Patriots (-9) at Cowboys: Injuries are really piling up in Dallas. Romo, Dez, Dunbar, Lee…Patriots are coming off a bye week and should be able to steamroll the Cowgirls. This could get ugly early and the Patriots don’t take their foot off the gas even in blowouts…Brady is out for blood this year!!
Giants (-7) vs 49ers: Uh oh, I’m going out on a limb with the G-Men covering a big spread…But they are 2 plays away from being 4-0, not even getting unlucky, just dumb mistakes that they won’t make again…49ers are in trouble, seems like half their team retired early last year, injuries, death in the family this week, and CK playing like a rookie…I see a few BIG plays for the G-Men, on both sides of the ball…Lets go BIG BLUE!!
Detroit (+2.5) vs Arizona: Everything on paper tells me to pick Arizona- the stats, the recent history between the two teams, and purely the fact that Arizona is a much better team, however I am going with Detroit because the NFL can be a funny game, not to mention that the game is in Detroit. Despite being 0-4 and losing on a tough final seconds call in Seattle on what should have probably been their first one, the Lions will return home to Ford Field and put the pieces together for this one game. They do have the league’s worst rushing offense squaring off against one of the better defenses in the league, so expect Vegas to be right that this will be a close one.
Oakland (+5) vs Denver: I’m going with another gamble here, simply because Oakland lost ATS last week when being favored for the first time in 27 games. But getting 5 points at home, I see the Raiders playing a tough divisional game against the Broncos in the Black Hole. Keep in mind that Oakland’s coach, Jack Del Rio, was the defensive coordinator for the Broncos the last 3 seasons. Denver does boast one of the best defenses this year and they have been putting together a winning formula based off of that side of the ball, but in the end those 5 points Oakland is getting will go a long way.
San Diego (-3) vs Pittsburgh: A Monday Night game in San Diego, I expect the Chargers to find a way to beat Michael Vick and the Steelers. Keep in mind the Steelers do get Martavis Bryant back from a 4 game suspension, but then again, so do the Chargers with Antonio Gates returning after a 4 game suspension of his own. Philip Rivers is putting together another solid year and I see San Diego coming away with at least a 4 point victory.
San Francisco (+7) vs New York: The 49ers are never an easy matchup for the Giants. Even as recently as last year at MetLife Stadium where the 49ers came in as underdogs, they found a way to come away with the win after Eli Manning threw 5 interceptions and the Giants did everything they could to lose that game. Don’t get me wrong, I still think NY has a good chance of winning this one, but the 49ers flying across the country present a trap game for the Giants and enough of a problem to keep this game close.
Cincinnati (-3) vs Seattle: Andy Dalton is boasting a 123.0 passer rating to go along with 9 touchdowns to start the season. The Bengals are hitting their early season stride as he will look to connect with AJ Green in front of their home fans where the Bengals are already 2-0. The Seahakws still boast one of the best defenses in the league and last week’s game against Detroit shows why Kam Chancellor is so valuable to this team. However they have not been a threat on the road, losing both road games this season, and I don’t think this week will be their 1st road W either.
Buffalo (-2.5) at Tennessee: The Bills have been searching for their grooves throughout the whole first quarter of the season. This time, against the Titans, they will come together and become the strong defense that they are the force to be dealt with.
Atlanta (-7.5) vs. Washington: The high flying, high kneeing, run through brick walls Falcons team are on a surge like no other team in the league. Their offense has been stellar thanks to Freemans running game, and don’t forget to key in the revived Defense. Might be the blow out we all know it could be. D-Jax being out doesn’t help, but look to have a more conservative Garçon in the game.
Arizona (2.5) at Detroit: Red Bird looking to fly high… too many options for Lions to pick up. And look for Palmers picking apart the Lions D.
Denver (-5) at Oakland: Alright, enough practice run and let’s get Manning back in the game! Manning will be back under center barking Omaha like no tomorrow, looking to confuse the Raiders D in showing their weakness’s. We all know Manning is deteriorating, but this is the game where he will show glimpse of a younger Peyton.
San Francisco (+7) at NY Giants: The big rivalry game between the 3guys! Jose’s 49ers going against Zack and Jeremy’s Giants… Cue in the lights boys it’s going to be a fun one! I expect no big leads but a close game. Kap under 20 attempts + Hyde running wild = 49er success!
