Can you believe a quarter of the NFL season is now in the books? It’s hard to believe how fast the season is unfolding, but then again this season has been full of surprises. If we traveled back in time to early September and someone told you that the Patriots would be 3-1 without Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo, would you have bought stock in that? Or what if someone said that the Denver Broncos would start off undefeated at 4-0 behind a 7th round draft pick (and a terrific guy) in Trevor Siemian? Ok that one may be a little more believable, especially given how stout the Broncos’ defense was projected to be this season. However you cannot tell me that you predicted the Eagles to start off 3-0 behind rookie 1st round pick Carson Wentz or the Vikings starting off 4-0 behind a quarterback that was supposed to be the Eagles starting quarterback up until a week before kickoff of the season! If you saw any of that coming, head to Las Vegas right now and put your money on your favorite number. Unfortunately for the 3Guys here (as well as the majority of the football population), we have been getting bit by the parody of the NFL each week. This constant parody is what makes the NFL fun, but at the same time can rip your heart out if you are a betting man, woman, or child (ok maybe the lesson is don’t let your kids gamble).
Below are our overall Pick’em standings from Week 4, with our Lock of the Week in parenthesis:
Locks of the Week:
Jeremy: Patriots (-10.5) Lock it up, and while you’re at it tease the line even more!! Tom Brady’s return could be an FU game to the Commish and the NFL. The Browns are a mess, like usual. And instead of getting Josh Gordon back this week, he decides to check himself into rehab…This could get ugly early and I think a 20+ point victory is well within reach. Bet the farm and make sure to play Brady and Gronk in your daily fantasy leagues for some easy points. Sorry Cleveland, you are the sacrificial lamb to Brady’s return…
JoseOle’s Makes Mo’nae: Eagles (-3) vs. Lions: The Eagles are coming off their bye week to play a Lions team that could easily be 0-4 if not for a late comeback against the Colts in Week 1.
Zac: Falcons (+5.5) I picked against the Falcons in my Lock of the Week last week. I will reverse course and pick them as my Lock for Week 5. Granted they are heading into Denver squaring off against one of the top defenses in the league, but Matt Ryan and this team have shown that they will continue to put up points in waves. Should be a great game and with 5.5 points going to the Falcons, I’ll take them in this match-up.
