Week 6 is finally here as we kickoff an exciting slate of games starting with a high powered AFC West matchup between the Broncos and Chargers. In addition, this week has a lot of great Divisional battles taking place such as Carolina vs New Orleans, Philadelphia at Washington, and Kansas City at Oakland. This will also be the week that Colin Kaepernick is given full reign to command the 49ers offense as the starting QB as they head to Buffalo. The Monday night game between the Jets and Cardinals will be the battle between two teams desperate to find any way to keep their seasons afloat, as both teams came into the season with high expectations to play beyond Week 17.
Below are our overall Pick’em standings from Week 5, with our Lock of the Week in parenthesis:
Locks of the Week:
Jeremy: Steelers (-7.5) @ Dolphins…
This is one of the biggest spreads of the week and a road favorite, but this is Big Ben and the mighty Steelers we are talking about. Do you think Ryan Tannehill has any answers to match Ben, AB, Bell, and company?? That blowout loss to the Eagles a couple weeks ago was mind boggling (34-3), and will be forgotten very soon. Miami’s only win this year is against the Browns, which they still could have lost. They are 29th in the league in yards per game and the Steelers are 5th. Being in South Florida doesn’t really give the Phins any kind of edge, beautiful weather most of the time. Look for this one to be over by halftime and a double digit win for the Steeeeeeeeeeeeeelers!!
JoseOle’s Makes Mo’nae: 49ers (+8) @ Buffalo…
Call me hopeful, optimistic or even bullish… But “if i’m lying i’m dying”, Colin Kaepernick’s contract restructure has lit the biggest fire in his Pro career. Chip Kelly and the 49ers office has created a “audition” for Kaepernick to prove his worth and possibly land a new team come next year.
The Bills has one strategy alone to dominate… FEED McCOY. Even with Bowman out, I believe they can get creative and can control the overworked McCoy into a good but not great production. This will allow Kap to work his new “light” feet into big plays. I LOVE Jeremy Kerley as he’s been the most targeted option. Give me the NINERs to keep it close if not win (like i said i’m hopeful)
Zac: Falcons (+6.5) @ Seattle…
I picked the Falcons last week as my Lock of the Week and good things happened. When I saw the point spread for this game, I felt that this was easily a no brainer given the amount of points Atlanta is getting on the road. Don’t get me wrong, Seattle is an extremely difficult place to play and the 3-1 Seahawks boast the #1 defense as well as an offense that is finally finding their groove with Jimmy Graham healthy again. But I think the Falcons’ offense which ranks 1st in points, total yards, and passing yards will be able to challenge the Seahawks in an entertaining game.
