We hope everyone enjoyed their Turkey Day and the football games that ran like a fine tuned marathon all throughout last Thursday. If you were like me, you turned around for a second to prepare your meal during the Lions/Vikings game and when you turned back around, Sam Bradford threw an INT & Detroit somehow pulled off another come from behind 4th Quarter victory. There were other good games this past week, including the Patriots just skipping by the Jets late in the game, and not only the Chiefs forcing OT with a TD and 2pt conversion, but then winning in OT on a last second field goal that hit the uprights but somehow skipped sideways and in for the win! (see video below):
This week will host a fun slate of games. The Patriots look like they have the easiest path to a win this week against LA, however news just broke that Rob Gronkowski may need surgery and could miss as many as 8 weeks. The match-up the 3Guys are looking forward to the most is the dual between 2 potential Hall of Fame QBs that made up the memorable 2004 draft class: Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger. Before we kick off another awesome week of football, let’s look back at last week and see how the 3Guys did:
Jeremy: Oakland (-3) vs Buffalo:
Once again, am I reading this correctly? Vegas automatically gives the home team 3 points. So in a neutral site they are saying this is a pick em game…Hmm…The 9-2 Oakland Raiders are being disrespected here. The Bills are 6-5 and a mediocre team and are traveling across the country to play in a hostile environment against an explosive offense. Carr is looking like a favorite to win MVP this year and do some damage in the playoffs. Lock this one up everyone, bet the house…could be my lock of the season…
Jose: Arizona (-2.5) @ Washington:
Arizona hosting Washington is begging to be an awesome game filled with offense across the board! Arizonas RB situation is strong and with Josh Norman in Washingtons backfield + Palmers inconsistent play = a run dependent squad. They will have to show Washington that they can do both so that they. An excel in their run game, which is how I see Johnson scoring 2 TD and running for over 100 total yards.
Zac: Dallas (+3) vs Minnesota
The 10-1 Cowboys head to US Bank Stadium to take on the Vikings Thursday night. Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott are both not only in the running for Rookies of the Year but a win in Minnesota and a win next week against the NY Giants may all but lock up the #1 seed in the NFC playoffs. The Cowboys don’t need this extra motivation as they boast the #4 offense in the NFL but it appears they have the Vikings in a vulnerable state. The Vikings may be without head coach Mike Zimmer who needed emergency eye surgery Wednesday night and his status is uncertain to coach the game. The Vikings do boast the #3 defense in the NFL and if there is any silver lining it’s that their defense can play hard in front of the home fans on prime time television and steal a win here. The Vegas spread is close, but ultimately I feel Dallas will make another statement.
